Not bad for 13

You obviously have a good grasp on FBF, and some good body movements.
A very smooth animation.

You have potential. Just keep at it, and maybe try some bigger projects. Maybe even move on the some full body stuff in the future.

The sound effects were pretty lame though.
Give:
www.findsounds.com
www.soundsnap.com
both a try. It will help a lot.

Good luck

evan210 responds:

yeah. i was about to upload it and was like "oh noes! i forgot to add sound!" so i recorded that all in one take in about 20 seconds.

Little boring

I enjoy watching mellow movies.
They make for a good watch, something you can just lay back and not think about.

That's what this was.
And it was fairly decent. But it was just to dull. When the man was flying, he just vibrated while clouds floated by. It would by nice if his wings moved, and we got to see a little bit of his pursuit of the bird.

I'm not sure, it was just lacking.

Rutger responds:

You would like some more fighting scenes, I see.

Golden concept

I've often thought of how a situation like this would turn out.
How two artists can enterpret the same thing so differently!
I would love to try that someday.

If you ever do it again, Maybe don't have it so that you use the same background and black pen thing.
It would be more interesting to see the two styles really take effect with 100% drawn backgrounds and colorings.

You're two styles are very similar, but this is a great example of how different they they can be. You both had a few different ideas. But some of the key ideas were the same. Like the first character who talks looks somewhat similar in both parts.

My only complaint, is that there is not an option, where there is a split screen, and we can see both parts running at the same time. THAT, would be awesome!!

Great work guys. Keep it up!!

Out of nowhere!!

You came out with Heart for the Hero, a hilarious movie. Then you just sort of disappeared for the longest time.
Heart for the Hero had some great humor, and some really high end animation, I was really looking forward to see what you did next.

Then this came out! Amazing work! You definately topped yourself here!
Good to see you doing original work instead of just another video game parody as well. You definately know how to write, and deliver.

Everyone can relate to that friend who just can't get away from their games, who trails off when talking to them. So right off the bat a good connection (and Zelda to boot!)

But then you take it on your own thing. The animations are so smooth, and I love the whole purpley type tone you have going with that characters. As you said yourself, it really becomes your own. And you really see your own style in this.

I have nothing but praise for this movie. The only thing I could prossibly find wrong (and this is a desperate attempt) is the waitress kind of has cop-out walking animation.
But overall it still fits the movie.

An amazing movie dude!
I can't wait till you start making some more orignal movies!!

Nothing too great

Doesn't really seem like much of a series.
The two had nothing in common...

That said, decent Flash. Seems rushed though.
There isn't really much animation. And the backgrounds are all just colorful gradients. Nothing too special or fancy.

I suppose it was semi-funny.
But I can't help but wonder if you just whipped this off and said it was part of the series to try and ride the mild success of the first.

I know you can do better work than this man, I've seen you do it.

DAGamesOfficial responds:

well I try, I cant please everyone, but ah well. at least I gave you a semi- laugh :D

Too long

The only real good joke was "Well, that was rather anti-climactic"
Good little pun. All that build up to just shoot it down with science.

But in the end that's all it was. A very long pun. You do clean animations. But I have to say the voice acting was a little boring. You've done way better voicing before. All the voices in this were so bland, emotionless, and similar.

Maybe worth the one watch. But I almost didn't finish it.
Too slow with the pacing, and not enough jokes.

Golden Eagle is my hero

This is awesome.
The best parts were the recurring jokes.
Such as people and aliens who's bodies just sort of wigged out while their heads stayed in one place.
The recurring joke of the "broken" bird was also nice.

But by far, the best part, and possible one of the greatest things I've ever seen, was golden eagle!
I believe this was a Marcy part.
Seriously. This could have it's own movie. Start it the same way, but make it into like a minute long piece.

I loved how suddenly it started. And the way his arms just kind of when all over the place.
The way it's instantly blown out of proportion with the police, and the rocket launcher.
I also loved the one subtle policeman in the background, and while he was aiming straight, the flash from the gun was just kind of spinning in circles. hidden jokes like that are the best.

Awesome work guys.
I <3 Golden Eagle

Funny

Really, this is an extremely funny video.
I loved how fast paced it was. It was just one joke after another.
Plus it was a fairly long video, so there were a lot of jokes too.
Funny punchline at the end too.

But now I get down to the real point of my review. I know this isn't you're fault. It's not your fault that people over rate it.
No matter how funny, it has no animation. That is essential to Newgrounds in my opinion. This move had lyp synching (ripped from Super Flash Bros) and that was about it.
There is no way something with no animation in it deserves over 3.50

Funny movie. But rated high for the wrong reason.

AlexTraynor responds:

Now, you see, in my opinion, it's FAR more important for a cartoon to be entertaining than it is for it to be good looking. People come to Newgrounds to be entertained, not to look at art. Sure, great art's always a plus, but it's not completely necessary. The limited animation suits the purposes of the movie, and if you think the movie should be disqualified from being successful because of some minor stylistic choices that most capable individuals are able of overlooking, then well, congratulations on being close-minded.

Thanks for liking the movie otherwise.

Really cool

This had very authentic Halloween feel to it.
It's actually a shame it didn't get voted higher.

The scene with the fuzzy guy getting chased by the skateboard was funny and clever. So nice work there Tommy :D

But I think the best looking part was Marcy's pumpkin. It was a good transition from scenes. And the pumpkin looked really cool.
The background art for that piece was also particularily well done. It had a suiting color pallete, and smooth style. It's a shame that was one of the shortest parts :(

Good song, witty animation

I always listened to Arrogant Worms back in the day (like 5 years ago)
Out of all their music this one probably transfers to animation the best.
It really brings out it's suggestive nature, and sexual euphamisms.

The animation itself has some very clever subtlties to match the music.
"He has a sizeable
home in the country"
The travelling down past the belly button, which turned out to be a tree in his yard.
The several of these such things are very clever, and original.

Great stuff. Worthy of a 10.
But still an overrated movie I must admit.
I don't blame you. It's not your fault the movie is popular.
But don't you feel it deserves something more like 4.20, not 4.38.
There is no way this should be considered better than movies like Waterlollies.

As I said, not your fault. Newgrounds just baffles me sometimes.

What's a goat?
