The stolen animations of Kevin Bao

Posted by Graeme - December 7th, 2019

As I'm sure many of you in various animators circles have heard this week, a director, Kevin Bao, had allegedly built a career around tracing over other people's hard work.

Now that this has all come to light, he has basically been chased out of every corner of the internet. This video tries to summarize the story a little, show some comparisons, but mostly to act as a showcase for the artists who were stolen from.

Hopefully when you give this a watch, you find a couple new bright young talents to follow!

Oh man, seems like a common thing to do for practice, but going so far with something like this... interesting. Makes you wonder how many people out there are doing similar things; just haven't been noticed yet. If they just mix up their sources a bit more...

Its difficult to decide where the line is drawn between ripping off & creating new, as even this video combines other peoples work to create content. Its nice that your giving credit but that's how a fair use review is suppose to be.
Let us remember that "muybridge animation reference" is where it all began. Let also remember that "similarities" nearly destroyed comics, because after 10 year legal battle over "similarities" in Superman VS Captain Marvel copyright law suit; the following year "Seduction of the Innocent" came out with completely delusional similarities between cartoon shadows & porn.

Thanks for sources to originals

Wow I hadn't checked your channel since the 'Week on Newgrounds' videos! Pretty cool that you
focused more on showcasing the original authors :)
