I'm not sure I want to be considered yet, maybe only as a last resort, but replaying downhill snowboard made me want to attempt replicating it. I might try to make a little prototype on my own time. If anything comes of it, I'll let you know!
Although I will advise you that downhill snowboard uses a sort of 2d ragdoll by pinning the different parts of the person together, and that would be difficult to do with the sprites you've provided.
Yeah, the precise ragdolly-ness of Downhill probably wouldn't translate. But I still like the weight and momentum of that physics-based boarding and moving. So it'd come down more to physics with simulated weight-tilts rather than a literal rag body
